Today saw the release of firmware 2.30 for the Sony Playstation 3. This update consists of a change to the Playstation Store regarding functionality and layout. The Playstation Store will no longer use the PS3's built in browser, resulting in faster navigation. There has also been a change to the layout of the Store providing improved navigation and categorization.

OK here it is, the first public beta of Meltdown!
Scenario
In this map we see the GDF trying to put an end to a major Strogg facility located in a once grand city. In order to reach the facility the GDF must first disable the shield generator to by pass the numerous shielded barriers leading to the facility. Once done the GDF must overload the facility's main reactor with additional energy cells, 2 in total should be sufficient for total meltdown.
Objectives
1. Destroy the Strogg Shield Generator to gain access to the facility.
2. Hack the Strogg Security Controls to gain access to the energy cell.
3. Deliver the energy cell to the reactor intake to cause total meltdown. |

After recently running our first cup. It is time to start the second. Lessons learned from the last cup have been taken into consideration and the competing teams asked about what they want. The rules where then tweaked to allow for a quick fun cup.
The new rule format should allow the cup to be played in 1 night with speed and efficiency. The cup is open to EU and non EU teams as long as your time zone allows you to play. All timings are GMT. The winner of Cup #1 was  VAE:ETQW

We at cupwars.com are starting off a sequence of ETQW cups in the very near future. We are aiming to run some low key one night cups for 4, 8 and 16 team knockout cups run by gamers for gamers.
We will be starting soon with an 8 team night cup then we will go on from there. Sign up and add your team and guids and show some intrest. Lets take ETQW forwards together. Gamers can even host there own cups using the site. If you feel you have the admin skills to assist in this up and coming project give tront a shout in irc or pm him on the site. We are always looking for willing volunteers. The site already has over 800 memebers and supports ETQW, BG2, DODS,COD4 and TF2.

Subsequent to the recent release of ET:QW Version 1.4 patch. The Demo version has now been updated to include the 1.4 patch.
Badman the Community Relations Manager over at Splash Damage had this to say:

That's right, Patch 1.4 is due to be released TONIGHT (Tuesday 15th Jan) according to the latest developer blog on the official ETQW Website. Servers are set to have their scheduled downtime from 16:00 GMT (17:00 CET) to get ready for the update, with the update expected to be released straight after.
The new patch features an abundance of new features and fixes including the greatly anticipated ETQW:TV. A full change log can be found HERE.

In an effort to bring GN's ETQW players there own home im proud to announce the launch of the ETQW Nation Tightpants server. The server hosted by our friends at Multiplay will hopefully prove to be popular and the first port of call for all serious ETQW players. The 24 man server will run in campaign mode and encourage good teamplay and sportsmanship.We would also like to encourage voice coms on the server be it via in game voip or GN ventrillo. Well here we are! 2008! oh yeah!
Many thanks to all those who have remained loyal to GN over these last few years through the good and bad times (we know who you are!). Much respect to the entire GN community both new and old!
We're looking to 2008 and hopefully the great improvements GN can offer it's community. We dont get paid to do all this ****. We do it because we want the best for our community! |

We (GN) would like to announce that as we speak a new GamersNation is currently in production. For those of you who are part of the GamersNation Facebook community, you are already aware of this news and indeed the development of a newer, more shiny GamersNation.
So why the change?
GamersNation's functionality for its users is severaly limited regarding access of specific content. With this I mean news items that are submitted are not categorised or more curicially, presented to you the user in a way we feel would provide an ultimate gaming service. For example, within our current website, searching for a news item regarding a specific game or event displays only news items related to your search string. All content within the new website in production categorises each entry, so searching for a specific game or other item also displays all and any other content that is related from screenshots to videos and articles to achievements on a single page.
